Chief has been adopted!!
Meet "Chief" the wolfdog
2 year old,
male, neutered, microchipped
Chief is
available for adoption through
Shy Wolf Sanctuary.
If you are interested in adopting him please make sure to
contact them.
Chief is a beautiful, playful, young dog.
He gets along well with other dogs (male and female). He
is very loving and likes to be around people. He makes a
great companion and just wants to please. He listens very
well and is completely housebroken. He is used to being a
crate while his foster parents are at work and is working up to
being left loose in the house when nobody is home. He loves the water and really enjoys a kiddie pool of his own.
How Chief came to be here...
Chief was brought into the shelter I work at as a stray.
This was his 3rd time being there as a stray. This time
however, his owners did not come for him even though they where
informed he was there waiting for them. Chief was not
taken care of very well by his previous owners and was very
underweight, full of fleas and worms. I thought he was a
beautiful dog and was so friendly to all the people at the
shelter. I would often visit with him and give him treats.
When Chiefs days as a stray where up he was due to be put down.
Since he's a wolfdog he could not go up to the adoption floor.
I wanted to save this wonderful dog as he did not deserve this.
He has a wonderful temperament and would make someone very
happy. I contacted "Shy Wolf Sanctuary" in Naples FL to
see if they could help. They where full with no foster
homes available. So I decided to foster him for Shy Wolf
Sanctuary. Times are hard in Florida for all animal rescue
organizations because of all the job losses, bankruptcies, and
foreclosures. There are so many animals coming in and not
as many adopters. So at the end of June Chief left the
shelter and was brought here to his foster home. He has
really flourished here and is gaining weight and looking good.
He's one happy boy! If you or someone you might know is
interested in him please contact
Shy
Wolf Sanctuary.
